Service terms

The Sherlock Review is designed to provide a considered, independent specialist physiotherapy opinion. These principles explain what the service is intended to include and where its boundaries sit.

Who provides the service

Project Sherlock is provided by Andrew Lockhart, an HCPC-registered physiotherapist, registration number PH102781.

You can contact Project Sherlock at hello@projectsherlock.co.uk.

The Sherlock Review

The advertised price is £199. The service is intended to include:

  • Consideration of relevant information and previous reports where available and appropriate.
  • One remote video consultation lasting approximately 60 minutes.
  • A personalised Sherlock Opinion, reviewed and approved by Andrew, within two working days of the consultation. Weekends and bank holidays are excluded.
  • One written clarification about that opinion, available within seven days of receiving it.

The seven-day clarification is not a new consultation, reassessment, review of substantial new evidence or ongoing messaging service.

Suitability comes first

An initial suitability conversation helps determine whether a remote specialist physiotherapy opinion is appropriate. An enquiry does not guarantee that the service can help or that an appointment will be offered.

If the situation requires urgent care, a hands-on examination or expertise outside Andrew’s professional scope, a Sherlock Review may not be appropriate.

What the service does not provide

The Sherlock Review does not provide emergency care, urgent medical assessment, new scans, formal radiology reporting, routine ongoing physiotherapy or a guaranteed diagnosis, cure or recovery timeframe.

It does not replace your GP, specialist medical care, diagnostic testing or face-to-face assessment when those are needed.

Booking, payment and cancellations

Online booking and payment are not currently available through this website. Once appointments open, the following arrangements will apply and will be confirmed before any payment is requested:

  • If a Sherlock Review is found to be unsuitable before an appointment is booked or paid for, there is no charge.
  • If an appointment has already been booked and paid for and the service is subsequently found to be unsuitable, a 50% refund will be provided.
  • Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice for the first time, you may rebook once without an additional charge.
  • Any further cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice, or a missed appointment, is fully chargeable and non-refundable.

Any additional booking, payment and consumer information will be supplied clearly before an appointment is confirmed.

Information and consent

Before a consultation takes place, you will receive information about the service, the handling of clinical information and the consent arrangements relevant to your appointment.

Please do not send sensitive clinical documents or detailed medical information by ordinary email unless a suitable secure process has first been explained. Once your booking is confirmed, you may be sent a personal upload link so that relevant documents can be shared securely, as described below.

Uploading documents

After your booking is confirmed, Andrew's team may send you a personal, time-limited link to the secure document-upload step. The link is issued for your case only and must not be shared with anyone else.

Please upload only documents that are relevant to the problem you would like Project Sherlock to review, such as scan reports, clinic letters, physiotherapy reports, procedure letters or treatment summaries. You do not need to upload everything in your medical record. The clinical team decides which documents are relevant to the Sherlock Review, and uploading a document does not guarantee that it will be used.

The upload step accepts up to five documents in PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG format, up to 10 MB per file and 25 MB in total. Do not upload documents that belong to another person. Do not use the upload step for urgent or emergency medical information: Project Sherlock is not an emergency service.

Documents you upload are stored in a private, access-controlled cloud area and are added to your clinical record by the clinical team after your identity has been checked against your booking. They are then considered as part of the Sherlock pre-review, the consultation and your written Sherlock Opinion. The public website does not store your documents, and they are never published at a public web address.

Project Sherlock is not responsible for documents you choose not to upload, or for information held by other healthcare providers. If you cannot upload a document, or a document is uploaded in error, contact hello@projectsherlock.co.uk.
